Judge throws out only jury win in U.S.-Cuba property seizure lawsuits

A federal judge overturned the only jury verdict ever won by people suing over property Cuba's government took decades ago. The scrapped award — $29.8 million from Expedia, decided by a Miami jury in April 2025 — leaves the 2019 rule allowing such lawsuits with no wins that have held up in court.
