US Says It Now Controls Most of Venezuela's Oil; Venezuela Calls It a Grab

Trump announced a deal giving the US majority control of Venezuela's enormous oil reserves — 65 billion barrels. Venezuela's government website calls the deal "technical-financial cooperation," but also reports Trump admitted he wanted to "seize" the oil. Because the two sides describe the agreement so differently, it is still unclear what Venezuela actually agreed to.
