Glacier Collapse Causes Deadly Flood on Nepal-Tibet Border

A glacier — a slow-moving sheet of ice — collapsed, sending a wall of water rushing through the Nepal-Tibet border region. At least 633 are dead and nearly 3,000 are missing. A Chinese rescue team arrived at the Gyirong border crossing five days later to find "nothing but ruins." Two upstream lakes, formed by melted ice trapped behind debris, are being watched.
