White House Speech Operator Allegedly Made $100,000 Betting on What Trump Would Say
Gabriel Perez, who operated the teleprompter for President Trump's speeches, allegedly used what he knew in advance to place bets on a website called Kalshi, where people bet money on future events. He earned nearly $100,000 before Kalshi froze his account. The White House placed him on unpaid leave. By late July 2026, regulators were discussing a possible settlement over insider trading.
