Canada pushes for a trade deal with India by 2026

Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu wants an agreement to lower trade barriers between Canada and India in place by the end of 2026. Relations between the two countries have warmed lately after a long rough patch. Both nations sent new ambassadors in August 2025, and their finance ministers met in Toronto the same week.
