Sony's Neck Cooling Device Grows Up

Sony's Reon Pocket Pro Plus chills the back of your neck using a small metal plate powered by electricity — no moving parts or liquid needed. It cools 20 percent better than the last version and also warms you in winter with four heat settings. It costs $260. The idea started as a 2019 crowdfunding project in Japan. Engadget's August 2026 review found it works well during heatwaves, but the battery didn't last as long as Sony promised.
