Two Airport Workers Die After Mosquitoes Spread Malaria at Frankfurt Airport

Since July 2026, six Frankfurt airport workers caught malaria, a disease spread by mosquito bites; two died. Health officials blame a mosquito that traveled on a plane. They are checking whether planes were properly bug-sprayed. Mosquito traps are set, and caught insects are being studied in Antwerp. The risk to most people is low.
