Iran and Oman Partially Reopen Key Oil Shipping Lane, but Full Reopening Depends on US

Iran and Oman agreed August 25 to partly reopen a narrow sea passage between them — the Strait of Hormuz — through Iranian waters. That passage, shut since early March, once carried over a fifth of the world's oil and gas. Iran says it will not fully reopen until the US lifts economic penalties and returns frozen Iranian money.
