The Fed stopped telling markets where rates are heading

Since becoming Fed chair in 2026, Kevin Warsh stopped giving forward guidance — hints about where interest rates are headed (Reuters, Aug. 12). Without those hints, markets guess more wildly around Fed meetings, bond sales, and inflation reports. Investors hope his Friday Jackson Hole speech offers an inflation plan. His record says he probably won't.
