Uganda Officially Clear of Ebola, WHO Says

The WHO declared Uganda Ebola-free on August 26, 2026. Ebola is a deadly virus, and health rules require waiting 42 days with no new cases before declaring an outbreak over. This outbreak, declared May 15, caused 20 infections and two deaths. Uganda's own health ministry had announced the end on July 28. Uganda now asks countries to lift travel restrictions imposed during the outbreak.
