ACT wants no tax on crypto profits held over a year

ACT wants to scrap tax on cryptocurrency profits when people hold their digital coins for more than 12 months. People who trade professionally or sell quickly would still pay tax. Deputy leader Nicole McKee said it would make things simpler for everyday investors. Inland Revenue says 355,000 New Zealanders use crypto. The idea is not government policy.
