
New Brunswick reconsiders its ban on fracking as U.S. trade tensions rise
Premier Susan Holt has launched a five-month public review of New Brunswick's 2014 ban on fracking — a method of extracting natural gas from rock. She cited the Canada-U.S. trade war and the province's reliance on American gas. Holt, a longtime fracking opponent, called the review an energy-security step. Her Indigenous affairs and natural resources ministers joined her.
