
Meta's $18B Settlement Withholds $5.3B Unless YouTube and TikTok Add Teen-Safety Rules
Meta agreed to pay $18 billion to 29 U.S. states over children's safety, but $5.3 billion of it is held back unless YouTube and TikTok agree to similar protections for teens. Meta asked both rivals to set daily time limits, block nighttime access, and silence notifications during school hours. Without them, Meta pays $12.7 billion.
