
Sudden Floods on Nepal-Tibet Border Kill 22; Hundreds of Tourists Missing
Sudden floods along the Bhote Koshi River killed at least 22 people on 26 August 2026. Officials say 384 tourists are missing, including people from India, the US, the UK, and Malaysia. Rescue helicopters cannot land in the steep mountains until the water goes down. The same river flooded in 2025, killing nine.
