Outgoing MP had kidney treatment in his flat while working in Parliament

In his farewell speech on 26 August 2026, ACT MP Mark Cameron said his kidneys were working at just 8 percent while he was an MP. He had a blood-cleaning treatment called dialysis in his parliamentary flat. He also spoke about heart failure and his son's suicide, saying he was "stuffed." MPs have no set system for handling serious illness while working.
