Australian Prices Keep Rising Faster Than Expected

Australian prices rose 3.5% over the year to July 2026, more than the 3.3% economists predicted. A key inflation measure the central bank watches closely stayed stuck at 3.6%. The RBA has already raised borrowing costs three times this year to 4.35% and says another hike is "quite possible." Its 2.5% goal keeps slipping further away.
