Watchdog says Defence Force has made little progress on harmful behaviour

A government watchdog has again found the Defence Force's 10-year effort to stop sexual assault and harmful behaviour has stalled. Its 2025 survey of 5,000 staff found 17 percent had experienced harmful behaviour. In response, the Defence Force is creating a new complaints team and will stop requiring staff to report sexual harm to their direct bosses.
