Self-Driving Taxi Company Waymo Plans Munich Launch by 2027
Waymo, a self-driving car company, will send robotaxis to Munich within weeks to map streets and test with backup drivers aboard. It aims to launch paid driverless rides by end of 2027 — its first in the European Union. A London launch is planned as early as September 2026. Waymo is securing permits with German officials. Offices in France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Switzerland suggest wider European plans.
