Uber Now Live-Streams Teen Rides, and Other Passengers Can't Say No

On August 25, 2026, Uber started live-streaming video from the driver's camera during teen account rides. Passengers riding along with the teen cannot turn it off. The feature launched in nine markets including Rhode Island, where the law requires everyone's consent to be recorded. Uber said the stream is encrypted but did not confirm whether only the intended viewers can see it.
