Trump Administration Plans to Cancel Visas for Asylum Seekers

On August 24, 2026, the Trump administration said it will cancel US visas held by foreigners who have applied for asylum — protection from danger in their home countries. The AP estimates up to 200,000 visitors and business travelers could lose permission to stay. That would be the largest mass visa cancellation in US history.
