
Tornado Hits Southern France, Leaving One Dead and Two Missing
A tornado — a spinning column of air touching the ground — struck Pomas, France on 24 August 2026. A 34-year-old woman died, over 40 were hurt, and about 300 homes were damaged. Two people are still missing under rubble. More than 100 firefighters are searching. Around 2,800 homes lost electricity. Winds topped 100 km/h during the storm.
