Nearly All US Refugees This Year Are From South Africa

From October 2025 through July 2026, the US admitted 10,258 refugees. Almost all — 10,255 — were South African; three were Afghans. This follows a 2025 Trump order claiming "white genocide" in South Africa, a claim that country's government calls false and politically driven. Refugees are people granted safety in another country.
