An MP's social media income is catching up to his government pay

MP Rupert Lowe earns money from paid posts on X (formerly Twitter). Those posts could bring him about £93,000 in 2026 — almost as much as the £98,599 a year MPs are paid. His hourly pay rate from X more than doubled this year. Lowe says he gives his MP salary, after taxes, to charity.
