Twice as Many Californians Could Lack Health Insurance by 2030

A UC Berkeley analysis projects Californians under 65 without health insurance will nearly double from 2.4 million to 4.6 million by 2030. The reason: state and federal cuts to Medicaid, the government insurance program for low-income people, and to subsidized insurance plans. The center's Miranda Dietz told legislators the cuts could cost about 200,000 jobs. Covered California's Jessica Altman said "it's triage."
