U.S. Hits Canadian Imports With 50% Tax After Trade Talks Fail

The U.S. imposed a 50% tax on $20 billion worth of Canadian goods starting August 23, 2026, after trade talks collapsed. A tariff is a tax that makes foreign products cost more.
