US Sends 20 Deportees to Liberia in Major New Deal

On August 20, 2026, the US sent 20 deportees — people ordered removed from the country — to Liberia. Under the deal, Liberia agreed to take up to 1,200 over 12 months, one of Africa's biggest such agreements.
