Zambia Arrests Opposition Members in Weapon Raids After Election

Zambian police arrested at least 11 people, including opposition figures, in raids around the August 2026 presidential vote. Officers seized weapons and said they were targeting armed groups called militias. The United Nations said it was worried about the arrests. A spokesperson for opposition leader Brian Mundubile was among those detained.
