Iran Threatens Bulgaria, Putting NATO Allies on Alert

Iran warned Bulgaria on August 21 that allowing US military refueling planes at Bezmer Air Base makes it a target. Bulgaria belongs to NATO, a 32-country military alliance. If Iran attacks Bulgarian soil, NATO's shared-defense pledge could drag all members into a US-Iran conflict. Iran has previously attacked neutral countries, including Jordan.
