Patreon Reveals Big Plans Months After Layoffs

Patreon announced 30 new and improved features on August 20, 2026, including short video clips, online community spaces similar to Reddit's subreddits, and a new recommendation system that suggests content based on what it resembles rather than who you follow. Several features are still being built. The news comes seven months after Patreon cut 20% of its staff. CEO Jack Conte said older platforms "have enshittified."
