Federal Judge: National Security Law Lets California Oil Pipeline Stay Open

A federal judge ruled that a national security law overrides California's rules, letting Sable Offshore's Santa Barbara oil pipeline keep running. The law, dating to the Cold War, was invoked citing the war in Iran. The pipeline had been shut since a 2015 spill. California's lawsuit against the Energy Department is still pending.
