Liberia to Take in 1,200 People Deported from the U.S.

Liberia agreed to take up to 1,200 people deported from the U.S. over a year, including Venezuelans and Cubans, a U.S. official said August 20. A first group of 20 was set to arrive. The deal sends people to a country that has no connection to their citizenship — a step beyond how deportations usually work.
