Leader of Online Extremist Group Gets 77 Years in Prison

Kyle Spitze, 27, of Tennessee, was sentenced to 77 years in federal prison — the longest ever for a U.S. extremist driven by a belief in destroying social norms. He helped run the 764 network, an online group. He pleaded guilty to creating child sexual abuse material, helping make videos of animals being crushed, and holding abuse material. He claimed to have targeted over 2,600 victims, two of whom died by suicide.
