Slack Adds AI Helpers for Coding Teams, Even on Free Plans

Slack launched Slack Code on August 20, 2026, available on every plan including free ones. Teams create dedicated channels where they invite AI tools — Claude Code, Devin, Vercel Agent, GitHub Copilot — to help with coding tasks together. Users can compare changes, preview web pages, and review activity logs. Channels close automatically when the work is done. More AI tools are available through Slack's marketplace.
