Fired Ukrainian Minister Wants Wartime Elections, Opposing President

Ukraine's former defence minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, fired in July 2026, wants presidential elections held during the war. President Zelenskyy says that's impossible because wartime rules — which give the government emergency powers — pause voting. Fedorov, once Zelenskyy's ally, blames a leadership crisis and corruption. Zelenskyy's office is now under investigation.
