Judge clears way for Trump administration to deport 5,000 Ethiopians who had legal protection

A federal judge ruled the Trump administration may strip deportation protection from over 5,000 Ethiopians. The protection, called Temporary Protected Status, lets people from crisis-stricken countries live and work in the U.S. legally. The ruling reverses the judge's earlier decision blocking the move. The homeland security chief told those affected to leave immediately or face deportation. About 1.29 million people across 17 countries hold this protection.
