NSW gun buyback starts 2 November — here's what it means

NSW will start paying people to hand in their guns on 2 November 2026, after the Bondi terror attack. About 274,000 registered firearms — nearly a quarter of all guns in the state — will be collected and destroyed under new rules on who can own one. The Coalition and One Nation say it's unfair to lawful owners. The government says it's about public safety.
