Tesla Plans Self-Driving Car with No Steering Wheel for Austin Roads

Tesla aims to put its Cybercab — a two-seat car with no steering wheel or pedals — on Austin streets as early as August 2026. Employees will ride first before the public can use it. The car's only backup if something goes wrong is a person steering remotely, and Tesla recently added satellite internet to keep that link reliable.
