Fighting in Lebanon Keeps Getting Worse Despite a Ceasefire Deal

A United Nations peacekeeping team reports that an average of 137 rockets or shells hit Lebanon each day from August 5–16, peaking at 208 on August 15. Israeli airstrikes killed 11 civilians that day. In total, 4,346 people have died since March 2, even after the US helped arrange a ceasefire on June 26 and seven rounds of peace talks.
