Virgin Trains gets green light to compete with Eurostar from 2030

A UK regulator approved Virgin Trains to run up to 20 daily round trips from London to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam starting October 2030 through 2040. Eurostar has been the only company running passenger trains through the Channel Tunnel since 1994. Virgin still needs permission from European authorities and safety approval before services begin.
