Five teens killed in wrong-way motorway crash in Ireland

Five teenage boys died and four people — including a child — were badly hurt when a driver going the wrong way crashed into their car on Ireland's M9 road at about 3am on 16 August 2026. Police chief Justin Kelly said some people drive wrong-way for social media attention. A similar crash injured nine the weekend before.
