New Federal Rule Stops Medicaid From Paying for Transgender Minors' Medical Care

On August 11, 2026, the Trump administration finalized a rule stopping Medicaid and CHIP from covering puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries for transgender minors. It takes effect October 12.
