Belgium Asks European Neighbors for Help Fighting a Record Wildfire

Belgium asked neighboring countries for firefighting help for the first time. A record wildfire has burned 1,600 hectares — roughly 3,000 football fields — of the High Fens nature reserve since Friday. The area, a wetland not used to fires, is being fought by firefighters, farmers, and the army. Planes and helicopters from Sweden, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands arrived to assist.
