Israeli Airstrike Kills Seven at a Shelter for Displaced Families in Lebanon

Israel bombed a house sheltering families who had fled their homes in Ansar, southern Lebanon, before dawn on 15 August 2026. Seven people died — including three children — and two were hurt. Lebanon's news media called it the deadliest attack there since June. Israel said it was targeting the armed group Hezbollah after fighting nearby.
