Colombia's Earthquake Hit a Hospital Already Short on Staff

A powerful earthquake struck western Colombia on 10 August. In the port city of Buenaventura, hospital staff had already stopped working over unpaid wages, leaving several wards closed. The city took in 330 injured people with its main hospital weakened; 540 homes collapsed. The death toll stands at 132.
