
France's Top Court Rejects Ban on Social Media for Under-15s
France's Constitutional Council — a court that checks whether laws follow the country's constitution — rejected a ban on social media access for children under 15 on 14 August 2026, weeks before its 1 September launch. The rest of the child-protection law remains. Parliament approved the ban on 22 July with backing across parties. Lawmakers must now rewrite it.
