UK Stops Selling Throwaway Barbecues and Sends Soldiers to Fight Wildfires
On 14 August 2026, Britain stopped stores from selling throwaway barbecues and sent soldiers to help fight wildfires. Small, one-time-use grills had started several serious fires this summer. At least 19 people went to the hospital in Stourbridge alone. There were 37 fires across Britain. Hot, dry weather may last through October.
