Ford changes how it builds cars at Louisville factory

Ford is spending $2 billion to change how its Louisville factory works. Instead of one long line where a car passes through every step, three teams build major parts — front, rear, and battery with interior — at the same time, then join them. Led by ex-Tesla executive Alan Clarke. Ford wants 15% faster building. A new electric truck, the Fathom, starts trial production in early 2027.
