Iran Says It, Not the US, Controls Key Oil Shipping Route

Iran's military rejected President Trump's August 12 claim that the US has "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway that normally carries a fifth of the world's oil. They said no ship passes without Iran's say. The strait has been blocked since war began February 28. Iran says it won't reopen until the US keeps its promises.
