Bluesky Leaders Say Social Media Can Be Rebuilt from Scratch

Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider and COO Rose Wang will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 (October 13–15, San Francisco) to argue social media can start over. Wang has called Facebook and Twitter "basically AI companies," saying their feeds are filled with computer-generated content rather than real people connecting. Bluesky's open design, where the underlying code is shared and transparent, is their proposed fix.
