
Why Prosecutors Don't Believe the Man Who Admitted Bombing a Journalist's Home
Valter Lavitola admitted planning the October 2025 bombing of journalist Sigfrido Ranucci's home. He said he did it to get his friend better security. But prosecutors in Rome don't buy that story. They found no evidence to back it up. Instead, they think Lavitola wanted to make Ranucci famous in politics, citing a call where he said Ranucci would soon be prime minister.
